 Meet Camus (Ka-Moo): A Diamond in the Ruff!

Camus is a spirited 1-year-old golden retriever with boundless energy and a big personality. This handsome young lad is looking for a dedicated, experienced home that’s ready to embrace his challenges and help him shine as the amazing companion he’s destined to be.

About Camus:

 • Age: 1 years old

 • Breed: Golden Retriever

 • Sex: Unneutered Male

 • Location: Canterbury, Kent

What Camus Needs:

Camus is full of life and loves meeting the world head-on with energy and enthusiasm. He’s a “project dog” with great potential, but he needs someone who’s ready to put in the time, patience, and effort to guide him into adulthood.

Here’s what Camus’s ideal adopter looks like:

  1. Experience & Patience: Camus needs someone who understands adolescent dogs and is committed to his training.
  2. Physically Fit: Camus is strong and energetic—perfect for an active owner who can keep up with him.
  3. Training Commitment:
    • Needs training for walking on a lead (he pulls, sometimes can be dog reactive and mouths the lead)
    • Requires recall training (currently, it’s a work in progress).
    • Needs understanding of resource guarding, new owner needs to be able to demonstrate/describe to us how to handle resource guarding which Camus does display.
  4. Time & Dedication: Camus thrives on both physical exercise and mental stimulation. Attending training classes and providing consistent, positive reinforcement is a must.
  5. Pet-Free Household (Mostly): Camus needs a home without cats or children. However, he could potentially live with a calm, older dog to help him learn boundaries. Camus indoors loves to play and be stroked but he is equally content in his own space to chill and snooze. 
  6. Feeding a Special Diet: Camus has localised dermatitis which needs managing.

 
With consistent training and the right diet, Camus is sure to excel—he’s a smart boy with lots of potential.

Adoption Requirements:

Adopters must be willing to travel to Canterbury, Kent, multiple times to build a bond with Camus before taking him home. This ensures a smooth transition for this diamond in the rough.
