New HomeFinding the right home for each dog takes time.

***** UPDATE *****

Otto is now settled in a foster home, thank you to everyone who took an interest in him, he is a most special boy and our charity will see that he has everything a senior needs.

Easter 2022.

Otto- special long term foster home needed- March 2022

Our Otto is a wonderful 15 year old Golden Retriever. Sadly, his lifelong owner has died.

Otto is an amazing character who just loves the constant company of people, he loves to be brushed, to settle close to you for a nap and he enjoys sensible ‘olds” walks.

Otto needs to live in a bungalow with access to all rooms so that he can follow you around, he can’t cope with a staircase but garden steps or a slope are fine in a very secure garden. Our vet feels he is in good health considering his age.

He has not lived with another dog in all his 15 years and we are seeking a home without another dog. No cats either. Otto enjoys meeting a dog on a walk for a sniff and a chat but he is not too steady on his legs and could easily be pushed over if he tried to play. He is good in the car after being lifted in; he weighs about 25kilos.

Otto will bark if he is left alone, sometimes for a long time, other times he settles quickly. This is what some oldies do, and he will not change.

Otto needs a family who really understands oldies, who will not worry if there is occasionally a small poo parcel in his bed in the morning after a very sound sleep. He needs someone who understands his age and can be aware as the weeks pass how other health issues may arise.

Our charity will support absolutely ALL Otto’s veterinary costs.

We really would like to keep Otto as close to DA13, Meopham in Kent as possible.

I am fostering Otto and we manage his characteristics with no trouble at all. He is a super senior Golden and he deserves a special home who will indulge him.
