New HomeFinding the right home for each dog takes time.

Ben

8th January - I am pleased to say that Ben moved in with a familiar friend today, not needing our help at all.  I am sure he will go on to have the love he deserves. My little time with him showed me that he is all or even more than we seek in a Golden Retriever. Best wishes Ben from Southern Golden Retriever Rescue.

**********

Ben is a 7-year-old, big Golden Retriever boy who needs a new home. He is currently living a happy life in Kidwelly, Wales, but sadly his owner will not be coming home from hospital. Ben enjoys outings to the park and the river and is easy in the car.

He has lived with other dogs and a cat but takes little notice of them. He has also lived as an only dog.

Ben has interacted with children in his family, but we feel a quiet household with visiting children only would be the best plan. Ben is quite reserved when meeting new people, hesitant to greet until a little time has passed. He carries his toys around the house and enjoys a game in the garden. When out walking, he can be strong on the lead — less of a pull and more of a “sit down, I want to go that way”.

I think he weighs about 45 kg, so be prepared for a strong discussion! He is calm off the lead, wandering and sniffing, and willingly returns to a familiar call. Ben loves to be groomed. He can be left alone for a few hours, but we are seeking a new home where he will gain a new companion, providing mutual friendship, outings, and good medical care as he grows older.

Ben is castrated. If you are interested in adopting Ben and are about 20 miles near Swansea and Gower, South Wales, please email rachel.clark@sgrr.org.uk with some brief details of the home you can offer.
